The 25-year-old was involved in an incident which saw another man taken to hospital with a laceration to his head.

“While he is permitted back, the Tigers will work through any internal sanctions over the next 48 hours,” Mitch Cleary reported on Seven.

He is due to face a NSW court on January 30, with the AFL Integrity Unit set to make its call on Balta’s future after the legal process.

The swingman handed himself into police in Mulwala after an incident at around 12:30am on December 30.

He was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

“The Richmond Football Club can confirm that AFL player Noah Balta has been charged with assault after an incident on the 30th December, 2024,” the club said last week.

“As the matter is now before the courts the club can make no further comment.

“The club has made the AFL aware of the incident.”

Balta signed a seven-year extension late last year which locked him into the club until the end of 2032.

He has played 104 games since debuting in 2019.
