Sylvester Stallone Hails Donald Trump as Rocky and New George Washington

fans have reacted in shock after the action hero hailed Donald Trump
as being akin to his character of Rocky Balboa, and said that he could be the “next George Washington.” The Expendables star was speaking at a black tie event celebrating the new president’s victory against Democrat Kamala Harris just over a week ago when he made the comments that left his fans unimpressed.

In the lead up to the election, many stars threw their weight behind one candidate or the other, and there was an unprecedented show of support for Harris, which included an unexpected endorsement from former Republican Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, Stallone was someone who remained very quiet before the votes were counted, but now it seems that everyone knows where his vote was cast. In a speech at the event, Stallone said:

“When I made Rocky, if you remember the first image was a picture of Jesus and it said ‘Resurrection, AC Club’. I found a church that had been converted into a boxing ring. So the image pans down from Jesus on to Rocky being hit and that moment he was the chosen person, and that’s how I began the journey. Something was going to happen, this man was going to go through a metamorphosis and change lives. Just like President Trump.

We’re in the presence of a really mythical character. I love mythology. This individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I’m in awe.”

As well as making comparisons to his fictional character – something that fits well with the president-elect’s love of discussing made-up characters such as Hannibal Lecter during his campaigning – Stallone also likened him to one of the country’s first presidents, George Washington.

“And I’ll just say this, and I mean it. When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. Cause without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the second George Washington. Congratulations.”

The match is supposed to be easily won by Creed, but someone forgot to tell Rocky, who sees this as his only shot at the big time.
