Reacher star Alan Ritchson continues to cement himself as the action hero of the hour as his next foray into the genre, War Machine, finally gets its explosive first trailer, courtesy of 
Netflix. Thanks to his breakout role as Jack Reacher in Prime Video’s smash-hit action thriller series, Alan Ritchson has become a fast fan-favorite when it comes to action fare, with the actor now all set to bring his burly frame to the world of sci-fi in this action spectacle that sees Ritchson fight a war far more epic than the battles he’s faced as Amazon’s nomadic avenger.
War Machine is directed by The Hitman’s Bodyguard filmmaker Patrick Hughes and features an all-star cast alongside Ritchson that includes Dennis Quaid, Jai Courtney, Stephan James, Esai Morales, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber.
As well as a stacked cast, the action outing also boasts the kind of high-concept that genre fans’ dreams are made of, with War Machine picking up during the final 24-hours of the world’s toughest selection program, as Ritchson’s combat engineer must lead his unit in a fight against a giant otherworldly killing machine. In a recent exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Jack Reacher and Die Hard star Jai Courtney, who will also strap on his combat boots and join Alan Ritchson on the front lines in War Machine, provided the perfect hype for the Netflix sci-fi action flick…
“I’m hearing really great things I think people are really excited about, I mean, it’s, you know, kind of high concept, you know, it’s really a survival thriller. And, I mean, look, I’m as curious as you. I can’t wait to see what they did, but it was awesome to go down and shoot a film of that scale in Australia. And I think what Patrick Hughes is trying to do there, and bringing those kind of blockbuster-esque, you know, high-concept action films, into the Aussie industries, is really, is really cool.”
Alongside War Machine, Alan Ritchson will continue to show off his action hero prowess for a long time to come. The actor has a whole host of action fare on the horizon, including a return as Jack Reacher for both a fourth season and the upcoming Frances Neagley spin-off, both of which are expected to debut in 2026. The actor will also star alongside cinematic icon Arnold Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus in the Christmas action comedy The Man with the Bag, stay mostly silent while out for revenge in Motor City, and lead the action thriller Runner alongside Owen Wilson.
