In The Last of the Mohicans (1992), as Chingachgook confronts Magua, Hawkeye stops Magua’s remaining warriors from interfering by holding them at the end of an empty rifle… (repost – removed for lack of clarity… image included that hopefully explains it).

  2. Yes! I just watched this 3 days ago (for the 8th time?), and it was bugging me wondering if he was out of ammo or something, because we don’t see him re-load after the double fire. Your explanation makes sense. Thanks.

  3. Michael Mann is an amazing director. I got extra credit in my college American History class for watching this movie, arguably some great historical accuracy in the movie, something Mann goes for in a lot of his projects. I won’t say everything he touches is amazing but his being attached to a movie will get my attention real quick.

  4. As a kid I was infatuated with the young woman. So to see her jump to her death disturbed me. Probably shouldn’t have been watching that movie to begin with lol .

  5. unquestionably my favorite movie of all time.

that scene under the waterfall is some of the best filmmaking/acting i’ve ever seen.

“You STAY alive, no matter what occurs. i WILL find you.” so good.

not the directors cut, which i’ll never forgive mann for. i know it’s HIS movie but the changes hurt the movie.

  6. This is a rare example of the movie being significantly better than the books. I love the piece written by Mark Twain absolutely tearing James Fenimore Cooper apart for his shitty writing.
