To play devil’s advocate, the intersection design could certainly be better. The green always go sign would do well to be pushed back to where the rest of the turn lights are to avoid this sort of confusion.
The turn lights could also use a directional filter so cars on the far right can’t see them or only partially see them while leaving only the cars in the turning lane to see them.
Why is the green light set so much higher than the others? Also, it just turns off completely instead of turning green with the other lights. Honestly, if I came through that intersection for the first time, especially at night, I would be confused AF too and would probably stop just to be safe. I think I’m going to have to side with the idiot on this one because that’s one wonky ass intersection. Also, I’m going to preemptively declare any downvoters ‘road Karens’ because, come on, I think it’s okay to be cautious and stop when you come across something as ambiguously designed as this, especially at night.
They could really use some green/red arrows on those turning lanes to make things a little less ambiguous.
Frankfort Ave? If so, I’d rather deal with someone stopping in the straight lane than the constant fear of the person in the right-most left turn lane who figures out they want to go straight when I’m in the straight lane right beside them. Those are the fun people.
and it means stop IN the intersection, not behind the line.
Left turn lanes have red light, lane going straight is always green. Idiot decides he MUST stop too

Colors are in the eyes of the beholder!
In Quebec, stop signs are green. Also maybe something was happening in the car and they just needed to stop. Idk just throwing ideas out.
Edit: Your downvotes are petty. Sorry to ruin your fun talking shit about basically nothing 🙂
What a chooch.

Ive definitely started doing this. I usually catch myself before the complete stop. But yeah, definitely an idiot in that moment.
Pretty sure that’s an actual streetlight.
If not, that might be the first traffic light I’ve seen mounted on the top of a street light post and the same height as the other streetlights.
Seriously, take a look at it when the light goes off. (and what kind of traffic light only displays green and not any other color)
