Prime Video’s new detective series, Cross, has gotten a lot of buzz, enough that it already had a Season 2 guaranteed long before it premiered. Fans of the James Patterson books that Alex Cross originates from may already have some clues about what to expect in the future season, especially about a major antagonist. The character of sharp FBI agent Kayla Craig is awfully similar to the name Kyle Craig in Patterson’s books. The latter, once a friend of Cross, eventually becomes a major villain to defeat. Do we see the writing on the creative wall here?
In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Alona Tal, who plays Craig in the series, was quick to note: “This is the fun part. Since this is a new world, any resemblance [of the two characters] is just fuel for the speculation, and that keeps you at the edge of your seat. In every good character, there has to be a little bit of both [good and bad].” She added:
“I like that she starts out as an ally, and if she develops into a villain, that’s going to give more drama and more excuse for us to enjoy. Honestly, I enjoy being part of the good guys. So, I’m going to relish in it, and hope that whatever comes, trust that Ben will write an exciting future for her, whatever that may be.”

New Alex Cross Action Series Teased by Stars Samantha Walkes and Alona Tal
The stars of Prime Video’s new James Patterson adaptation Cross reveal what we can expect from the action series, out Nov. 14.
Season One Already Dropped a Huge Personal Betrayal
Created by Ben Watkins (Hand of God, Truth Be Told, Burn Notice), the action-packed new series finds homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross trying to track down a relentless serial killer. A frantic cat-and-mouse odyssey ensues. The series also stars Isaiah Mustafa (IT Chapter Two), Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam), Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Jennifer Wigmore, and Karen Robinson.
The series deviates from the paths of Patterson’s books by broadening the creative landscape. The biggest shift is that it takes us deeper into the personal life of Alex Cross. Throughout Season 1, Cross is dealing with the death of his wife Maria, and honestly, there are so many characters to suspect. Perhaps even Kayla Craig.
Spoiler Alert for the Season 1 Finale
Major Spoiler Alert: And then… the final episode of the season revealed that the killer was a man named Peter, who was instructed to kill Cross’ wife by Damon Cross’s (Caleb Elijah) piano teacher, Miss Nancy. What? With the series already renewed for a second season, we expect more twists and perhaps personal betrayals, paving the way for Kayla Craig to become a potential foe. Stay tuned. Cross is streaming on Prime Video. Watch it through the link below.
