  1. So this is how it happens when an owner calls the vet hospital I work at saying my dog got attacked by a squirrel/groundhog/chipmunk? We always wondered just how many aggressive chipmunks are out there ‘jumping your chihuahua".

  2. I had a Jack Russell once and they are actually bred to hunt small burrowing animals. One day we were outside and I hear this high pitched screaming sound. I look over and he had pulled out a baby mole from it’s burrow. I yelled spit it out and he did. Good boy lol

  3. Everyone…this is a prairie dog. Not a ground hog, squirrel, chipmunk, rat, bunny, capybara, beaver, pika, gopher, mouse, lemming, vole, mole, marmot, or any other rodent or rodent-like creature I might have missed.

  4. I kinda feel bad for the prairie dog, a paw the size of your entire back pawing at you has got to hurt at least a little bit. He’s just trying to do his own thing in peace.

Plus you could see him getting more and more upset as it goes on. They can puncture that dog’s skin down to the bone (can attest, have worked with a prairie dog briefly from ex-exotic pet rescue. Ouch) then we have a full on fight / injury on our hands because the owner won’t help :/

  5. Please don’t let pets harass wildlife for internet points. Luckily no one was hurt this time but it doesn’t always end up like this. Most of the time it ends up in tragedy.

  6. I hate to bring this up and ruin a good video, but that mole, or prairie dog bit the dog’s leg. They carry disease that cross species and can make the dog really sick. Let’s say it is a prairie dog, the can carry Bubonic Plague. It can then be transmitted to the dogs parent from the sick dog. Somebody tell this owner to take the dog to the vet, and take themselves to a highly skilled doctor, say at a top notch teaching med school hospital.

  7. Nobody else concerned for the potential of the dog to get fleas/ plague from this? I mean, of course its an easy cure, but the dogs Ive seen that have gotten the plague actually got super sick.

  8. My parents’ dog just recently got pretty chewed up by a groundhog. This video made me worried.

EDIT: to be fair the dog was totally killing the groundhog so maybe he deserved it.
