There are a few milestones that a film franchise has to pass before becoming an all-time classic. It needs to have good reviews, fans need to start cosplaying as the characters, and wars need to be fought on Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) about the film’s timeline. That said, what truly cements a film franchise as truly beloved is when it gets its own LEGO set. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally being immortalized in tiny, clicky, painful-to-step-on bricks, after a long wait from fans.

The beloved toy company recently unveiled its first-ever set based on the hit animated film franchise. The new set features a battle scene from 2023’s sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film saw Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) traverse the Spider-Verse, reuniting with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), and meeting new web-slinging versions like Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), Hobie Brown (Daniel Kaluuya), and Pavitr Prabhakar (Karan Soni), as the underrated villain The Spot (Jason Schwartzman) tore through the multi-verse on a mission for revenge against Miles Morales. The set depicts a battle between Miles, Gwen, and Spot, from the first act of the film, with Miles’ father, Jedd (Brian Tyree Henry) caught in the middle of the fight.

Labeled as “Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot,” the set includes minifigures of the four aforementioned characters, as well as a police cruiser and a diorama of the convenience store Miles first encounters The Spot in. The set contains 375 pieces, and retails for $49.99. The official description reads:

“The Spider-Man playset comes with 4 minifigures: Miles Morales, The Spot, Gwen Stacy and Officer Jefferson. The convenience store has an exploding-wall feature that allows the ATM to be removed. Accessories include a long, flexible web rope and a flexible web that is large enough to encase a minifigure. The police car opens to allow 2 minifigures to be placed inside.”

What’s Going on With ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?’

In an alternate timeline, we’d have already seen Beyond the Spider-Verse by now. Following the tremendous success of 2019’s Into the Spider-Verse, Sony Animation announced two sequels, 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse and the yet-to-be-released Beyond the Spider-Verse. The latter was originally given an early 2024 release date, but was quickly postponed following the release of Across the Spider-Verse. The film has yet to be given a new release date by Sony. Rumors and reports have been released over the past few months about the film being completely rewritten and scrapped altogether.

New Lego Movies in the Works From Directors of Wonder Woman, Jumanji, and Attack the Block

Patty Jenkins, Joe Cornish, and Jake Kasdan have all been tapped to direct top-secret Lego movies, according to new reporting.

Beyond the Spider-Verse is still going ahead at Sony Animation, although its current state is anyone’s guess. The latest update came from Brian Tyree Henry, who promised that the threequel would be well worth the wait. “We have to conclude it. It has to be concluded,” he began, certain of the film’s future. “It takes time, but we got to make you wait a little bit. You know what I mean? But it’s coming. It’s coming. There’s not going to be a dry eye in the house. I’ll tell you that.” The film also got another major update last December when its directors were officially announced. Bob Perischetti and Justin K. Thompson will be overseeing the third (and potentially final) installment.
