Is this an Easter egg? I’m not sure I’d agree that the Star Wars reference is there because of Patton Oswalt. It’s a good joke that would work with any actor in that scene. I might be wrong but I doubt it was written specifically because the actor had previously expressed the same (very common) opinion.

Payton Oswald is a God damn treasure and I just love him. My cousin and I saw one of his shows in Salem in 2011/2012 (don’t remember the exact year). He was hilarious and even interacted with the crowd in the front. Great show and I just love anything he’s in. I love he’s able to do adult and kid humor as well.
Oswalt does an awesome riff on sequels in a Parks and Rec episode. It’s amazing.
